Hemolaser Therapy – Light for the Blood
What is hemolaser therapy?
In hemolaser therapy, also known as intravenous laser blood irradiation, your blood is irradiated with gentle laser light through a fine cannula inserted into a vein in your arm. Different wavelengths are used depending on the treatment goal. The procedure is gentle, causes little pain, and is used as part of a holistic treatment approach.
How is the treatment supposed to work?
Light of certain wavelengths can influence metabolic processes in cells, such as energy production in the mitochondria. This has led to the idea that it can support regeneration, blood circulation, and immune function. The scientific evidence is limited at this time. We therefore always discuss on a case-by-case basis whether this therapy is appropriate for you.
When is it used as a supplement?
In clinical practice, hemolaser therapy is used, among other things, as a complementary treatment for:
- persistent fatigue and reduced resilience
- Symptoms following infections, such as post-COVID
- Susceptibility to infection
- Circulatory Disorders
- chronic pain conditions
- Wound-healing disorders
- to support recovery, e.g., during periods of high stress
It is not a substitute for necessary conventional medical treatment.
When is it not suitable?
In the following situations, we do not perform the treatment, or we do so only after careful consideration:
- Pregnancy
- increased tendency to bleed or coagulation disorders
- Photosensitivity or porphyria
- Taking photosensitizing medications (e.g., certain antibiotics, St. John’s wort)
- active cancer
- Untreated hyperthyroidism
- Epilepsy
- Acute febrile infections
Before we begin, we’ll discuss your medical history and current medications during a consultation with your doctor.
Here’s how it works
- Preliminary Medical Consultation and Suitability Assessment
- Insertion of a fine intravenous catheter through which an optical fiber is inserted
- Radiation therapy while lying down, approx. [XX] minutes
- Typically, this is a series of several sessions; we determine the number and frequency on a case-by-case basis.
Costs
89 EUR/30 min, package rates available – self-pay service, billed according to the GOÄ (infusion therapy).
