Functional Medicine – Uncovering the Connections
If the standard values are inconspicuous, but you do not feel
healthy Exhaustion, sleep problems, digestive problems or reduced resilience often have more than one cause. Functional medicine looks at the person as a whole and asks how different body systems interact with each other.
What I’m looking at
- Stress Regulation and the Stress Hormone Axis
- Gut Health and Digestion
- Micronutrient Intake
- Hormonal balance, e.g., thyroid and sex hormones
- Inflammatory Processes and the Immune System
- Energy Metabolism
- Lifestyle, Sleep, Exercise, and Nutrition
Here’s how it works
- In-depth initial consultation: Your medical history, your symptoms, and your life circumstances (75 min)
- Targeted Diagnostics: Laboratory Tests, with Advanced Specialized Diagnostics as Needed
- Discussion of Findings: We’ll review the results together. (45 min)
- Personalized Plan: e.g., nutrition, micronutrients, stress and sleep management, and, if necessary, additional therapies (work required outside of office hours)
- Follow-up visits every 3–6 months
Good to Know
Functional medicine complements conventional medicine; it does not replace it. Necessary diagnostic tests and treatments always take precedence.
Costs
Billing is based on the GOÄ. Private health insurance plans do not cover all specialized tests, but they do cover most of them. I will inform you in advance of the estimated costs.
